After a very successful inaugural year in 2020, we're bringing back our Holiday Home Decorating Contest to benefit St. Mary's Food Pantry (find out how to support the Food Pantry below), sponsored by Pat Camputaro of American Industries. Enter in various categories -- from the biggest "wow" factor to the best use of animation and audio, you can incorporate your own decorating style in this year's competition.

The contest is for exterior decorations only, and will be judged by 'curb appeal' (houses must be visible from the street).

Registration opens on November 1, 2021, and closes on December 5, 2021, at 9:00pm EST.

Voting takes place December 6-12, and winners are announced December 15.

Contest Rules

Eligibility:

ECPAA's 2nd Annual Holiday Home Decorating Contest is open to residents of Griswold and Jewett City, Connecticut, that register via the form below by December 5, 2021, at 9:00pm EST. Entrants must be 18 years or older.

ECPAA Board Members, Advisory Board Members, and Sponsors are not eligible to win, but may join in the decorating fun!

Registration to the contest is FREE. No purchase is necessary; purchasing tickets for ECPAA events will not increase your chances of winning.

We encourage you to donate non-perishable goods to the St. Mary's Food Pantry during the holiday season, but this will not increase your chances of winning. More information on how and where to donate below.

How to Enter:

Register at the form below. Incomplete entries or those that do not adhere to the Contest Rules will be disqualified at ECPAA's discretion.

Agreement to Rules:

By entering ECPAA's 2nd Annual Holiday Home Decorating Contest, you agree to abide by our official contest rules and decisions.

Entry Period:

Enter between November 1, 2021, and December 5, 2021, at 9:00pm EST.

Entrants should ensure that all lights and decorations are in place and activated during the week of December 6-12 after sunset.

Voting:

Starting December 6, the community will be able to submit votes for winners in five (5) categories (see below).

Members of the greater-Griswold community are encouraged to drive around and view all houses registered for the contest over the span of December 6-12. Plan your evening drive from our interactive Google Map or address list.

Photos and/or videos will be posted to ECPAA's Facebook and Instagram accounts, as well as ecpaa.org to serve as a reminder of each entrant's number while voting. Photos/videos will be submitted by entrants or taken by ECPAA board members. We do not intend for votes to be based on the photos; photos are to remind voters of what they saw in person as we are not professional photographers!

Online voting will open on December 6, 2021, at https://www.ecpaa.org/holiday-home-decorating-contest-voting.

All votes will be submitted by the entrant's Home Decorating Contest number, not the home address.

Cast your vote by December 12, 2021, at 9:00pm EST.

The ECPAA Board will review votes, and five (5) winners will be announced on December 15, 2021.
