CONTEST RULES

 

Is your home the brightest home on the Block?  Are you the most festive home in town?  Do you rival the decorations of those in Holiday movies? Then we have the contest for you!

Contest Information:

1. Participation is open to ALL Griswold and Jewett City Residents.

2. Entry is FREE, no cost or fees apply.

3. ECPAA board members are not eligible to participate.

4. Entry applications must be received no later than December 4, 2020.  They must be submitted via the online registration form below.

5. Contest is for EXTERIOR decorations only, including decorations in windows that are visible from exterior.  Judging will be done from outside the residence only.

6. Judging will be based on “curb appeal” as viewed from the street only.  Therefore, only those decorations located on the street side of the property will be judged (corner lots will be judged from both streets).  Judges will not enter the property to view back or side yards.

7. A total of Five (5) Prizes will be awarded

8. Judging Criteria will include:

• Unique design and creative use of lights and decorations

• Story-line or theme

• Display and placement of Decorations, animated objects, etc

• Overall presentation.

1. Participants should ensure that all lights and decorations are in place and activated during the week of December 6 – 13 from 6:00pm – 9:30pm.

2. Prizes 

• 1st Place - 100 gallons of Home Heating Fuel, generously donated by Viking Fuel

• 2nd Place -$200 Grocery store gift certificate generously donated by Wiggle Waggle Pet Grooming & Better Valu, Lisbon, CT 

• 3rd Place - $50 gift certificate to Heavitree B&B Holiday Shop and $50 gift certificate to Mia’s Restaurant, Pawcatuck, CT

• 4th  $75 gift certificate to Mia’s Restaurant

• 5th Place - Two (2) tickets to ECPAA’s 2021 Jazz Festival at Yurechko’s Tree Farm
